Youth at New Hope
Our goal as a youth leadership team is to help students come to know who Jesus is, and who they are in Him.
When you know who you are in Christ, and that you are loved by the Creator of the Universe, your life changes (in the best way).
We are helping to raise up the next generation of believers who will one day change the world.

Meet Our Leaders

Manuel Tousignant (Pastor Manny)
I've been a dedicated part of New Hope youth ministry for the last 3 years. I'm deeply passionate about helping leaders and youth grow in their relationship with Jesus, focusing on discipleship and building strong connections within the community.
I'm married to my wonderful wife, Kayla, and together we're raising 3 energetic boys. In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. My commitment to both my family and my faith fuels my dedication to nurturing the next generation in their spiritual journey.

Kayla Tousignant
I'm Kayla, wife to Pastor Manny and mom to 3 boys. When I was 15 I was invited to youth group, and shortly after attending I got saved, was baptised, and haven't looked back since!
Youth group helped me realise that I wasn't invisible, that people did see me and that I mattered to people.
Also I think farts are hysterical, and I love milk.

Zoe Austin
Hey all!
My name is Zoe, 23 years old. I'm a wife to Grant, and a mom to a little boy named William. I also have a big dog named Riley, and two cats, Minou and KitKat.
I have a passion for youth, and really love seeing them grow in Christ and experience who He is in their lives. I mostly act as "secretary/assistant" at youth, but you'll probably see me helping out in every area, wherever I'm needed.

Grant Austin
I’m Grant, I'm 26 years old, and I'm happily married to Zoe and the proud father of William. I have been helping in youth ministry for a long time, but started helping here at New Hope shortly after moving here in 2020.
I’m passionate about drumming, video games, and playing guitar, and I balance these interests with my deep commitment to helping youth learn about Jesus. My love for Jesus inspires me to support and guide others in their spiritual journeys.

David Oldfield
I'm David, and I've been working with youth since before Bryan was alive (just kidding).
Start over - I was saved in 2008 and have been working with kids and teens ever since.
I run my own business, and enjoy spending time with my kids.
You'll see me at youth helping out, and probably being called older than Moses at some point during the night.

Bryan Kydd
My name's Bryan, and I've been helping with youth for longer than most of them have been alive.
I'm a husband to Bobbi, and dad to 3 teenagers.
I'm also a paramedic, and love playing guitar, and most sports.
You'll see me at youth helping out, and usually being called when someone gets hurt.

Elijah Tousignant
I'm Elijah Tousignant, and I work for Pamela's Lawncare, where I take pride in maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces with a keen eye for detail. I'm also passionate about video games and E-Sports, and I serve as a Games Leader for my youth group, where I enjoy mentoring and engaging with young people through games.
With several years of experience as a youth leader, I bring a positive and energetic approach to my role.
When I'm not working or volunteering, I love staying up to date with the latest in gaming and E-Sports.

Tatyana Blais
Hi I'm Tatyana, I'm 20 years old, and I grew up here in Cochrane Ontario. I first came to youth when I was 14 in 2019 because I wanted to feel included and be a part of something. The first time I stepped in the church I knew it felt like home.
I gave my life to Jesus at Overflow Youth Convention in 2019. Since then I dedicated my life to helping others physically and spiritually. I am now a Registered Practical Nurse, and you might see me leading worship at youth or just helping out!

Jake Dekker
My name's Jake, I've been working with youth on and off since getting saved 13 years ago. I love underwater rugby, ice fishing and any other sport that gets the adrenaline flowing. I can't wait to see God work even more through the next generation, raising up leaders and setting people free.

Krista Dekker
I'm Krista, and I grew up in a solid church whose youth program was small but mighty. It was always a highlight of my week to spend time with my friends and learn about the Lord at youth.
I've now served as a youth leader in youth ministry for a number of years and love to see how God is shaping the next generation to stand firm in His Truth.
I can't wait to see our youth grow in their faith and understanding of God's plan for their lives.

Aileen Hessels
I'm Aileen, I am married to Greg, and we have three wonderful children. I was born and raised in Cochrane and after attending Guelph University, I came back to my hometown to lay down roots and raise my family. While I have been involved with church my whole life I just recently got involved in youth ministry in 2023. You can usually find me behind the piano during worship on Friday nights!

Tina Wiebe
My name is Tina Wiebe. I am married, and I'm a mother of 5. We moved up to Cochrane about 2 years ago now, and started to attend New Hope 1.5 years ago. I am pretty new to the youth leadership team, but I am looking forward to learning and working alongside them.
